Friendship Missions

Our church has a Missions Committee which coordinates a number of outreach programs.
The programs below have been regularly supported for a number of years:

Festival of Sharing - This program, sponsored by the West Ohio Conference of the Methodist Church, provides school, baby,
and health kits to individuals in need.

Peanut Butter/Jelly Saturdays - On the first Saturday of each month, volunteers make peanut butter & jelly sandwiches which
are given to individuals in need at Nast Trinity Church.  Peanut butter and jelly are contributed by individuals from our
congregation.  Last year, over 6,000 sandwiches were made and distributed.

Nast Trinity United Methodist Church - To provide help to those most in need, United Methodist churches in the Greater
Cincinnati area provide Sunday evening meals at Nast Trinity, usually feeding 300-400 people.  Friendship provides an
evening meal one Sunday in May and another in October.

Interfaith Hospitality Network - This service provides housing and meals to homeless families for 1-week periods.
Friendship provides help 3-4 weeks each year to 10-14 people each week.  This ministry requires many hands to prepare our
church, prepare food, chaperone our guests, and clean-up after our guests leave at the end of the week.

Valley Interfaith Food & Clothing Center Christmas Giving Tree - Each year our church provides Christmas presents to Mill
Creek families in need.

Adult Mission Trip - Over the past 14 years, an adult mission team has provided support to the Navajo in northern Arizona, to
Native Americans in Montana, to those who lost housing from Hurricane Katrina, and to the poverty-stricken in Appalachia.

In addition to the programs above, our church supports special needs in the Cincinnati
area.  Over the past 3-4 years, some of these special outreach efforts have been:

- a local family hit hard by unemployment
- One-Way Farm, providing materials and labor to rebuild a fence destroyed by the September '08 wind storm, and also
removing some trees.
- provided clean-up supplies to areas hit by flooding
- Shoes for Souls; provided shoes for Africa
- built lockers for the IHN facility in the West End
-another local family, provided housing and support

Finally, our church provides financial support to:
- Nast Trinity United Methodist church
- Interfaith Hospitality Network
- Red Bird Mission and Henderson Settlement in Appalachia
- Campus Crusade for Christ - Bushelman family
- City Gospel Mission
- Valley Interfaith Food and Clothing Center
